Eating for a Healthy Heart

by Dr. Robert Povey, Jacqui Morrell and Dr. Rachel Povey

Heart disease is one of the major causes of illness and death in the UK. A healthy diet is seen as one of the main weapons in the fights against heart disease, and in the rehabilitation of people who have had heart attacks or suffer from high cholesterol.

The first part of the book contains advice on healthy eating, and how food and drink affects the working of the heart, whilst the second part of the book consists of recipes, which have been vetted by the chief dietician at the Heart UK.

Dr Robert Povey is a psychologist, co-author of Learning to Live With Multiple Sclerosis and author of How to Keep Your Cholesterol in Check. Jacqui Morrell is a dietitian who specialises in the treatment of heart patients. She is principal dietitian for the Family Heart Association. Dr Rachel Povey is a psychologist with a particular interest in healthy eating.
